My furBabies
Below is a list, including pictures, of my furbabies from oldest to youngest. I love them to pieces and I treat them as if they were my own children. I’m an animal lover, what can I say? Birthdates are estimated as I am too lazy to update their age periodically.
Phantom
Sex: Male | Birthdate: September ’06
I believe Phantom is a “Bombay”. I have never been able to look him up and the closest I came to matching him up on Sims 2 Pets was with a bombay. He looks like a small Panther.
I got Phantom in December of ’06. At the time, I only had him and my childhood dog, Foxy. I had been wanting a kitten for a while and was desperate to have one. Since it was close to Christmas, most cats aren’t in heat or haven’t been in heat in quite a few months, my mother called all the pet stores in a 25 mile radius. We finally found one pet store that had ONE kitten. My mom got me in the car and we drove to the pet store 22 miles away. As we came up the street the pet store was on, a giant flash of lightening came down. All the power on the block went out. My mom still took me in. The pet shop clerk was gathering flash lights in the back when she spotted us. She brought us over to the “kitten” we called about. Phantom was the only cat in the pet store, he laid on the top shelf in the cage and looked at us as we came closer. His bright yellow eyes glowed as we approached him. I put my hand out and he nestled against the cage. I looked at my mom and said “This isn’t a kitten..” Phantom was 4 months old. By definition, I guess, yes, he was a kitten. However, I wanted a tiny 6-8 week bundle of joy that would fit in the palm of my hand. She told me if I didn’t want him, we would keep looking. The more he rubbed up against my hand, the harder it became to say no. How long would he be there for if I didn’t take him? We took him and paid the clerk by flash light. Never have I ever regretted taking him. He is the best damn cat I have ever had and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. He loves me, he kisses me, he lays with me, he plays with me, even at 5 years old. He’s my baby-boy. He is ver loyal and one of the few cats who has really loved me.
Lily
Sex: Female | Birthdate: April ’08
Lily is a teacup Pomeranian/Yorkie
Lily is our very energetic, loud, annoying puppy. She’s genuinely sweet, obedient (for the most part), overly excitable, and loves as more than she loves breathing. There isn’t much of a story to how we got her, my mom wanted a yorkie (or a variation of that) and found a breeder in Lancaster. We made a trip down there (about 2 1/2 hours) to get her.
Reese
Sex: Female | Birthdate: Jan/February ’11
Reese is a “tortoiseshell” cat. She has the most unusual and beautiful markings of any cat I have ever seen. Under her nose, one side of her mouth is black and the other side is tan. On her toes, it seems there is a pattern in the colors with tan, black, and brown.
I’m not going to lie. Reese is a bitch. It’s not her fault, though. She was raised by cats and I am almost positive she was 12 weeks when we got her. By then, they have no need for humans. I would never trade her for anything, though. She has her “pet me” moments and believe me, I take advantage of those.
Bailey
Rest in peace, baby girl.
Sex: Female | June 2011 - August 4th, 2011
Bailey is my baby and probably will be forever. We found her abandoned in the next yard when she was about 2 weeks old. I bottle-fed her, pottied her, burped her, and cuddled her. She has now grown into the most rambunctious bundle of joy I have ever seen. She’s playful, happy, and healthy. I think I did a good job raising her.
Oliver/Ollie
Sex: Male | Birthdate: April 7th, 2011
After losing Bailey, the animals remaining seemed to be depressed. Lily was Bailey’s second mom and a week before her death Reese finally became very close to her. While dealing with my own grief, I knew that, not just for me, but also my other babies were missing their playmate, their sister. While I was looking for a possible kitten to help them through it, my mom was looking at a dog. I’ve always wanted another dog but since they are more of a handful and more expensive than a kitten, I just didn’t bother asking. At first, Ollie was the loner. Reese was afraid of him and Lily was jealous of him. (Partly my own fault since I let him sleep with me for the first night to make him feel better.) She was mopey for a little while but we just encouraged her to be more friendly towards him and my mother took them on walks to establish the “pack”. She came around after about 2 weeks and now they are inseperable. They get into trouble together, sleep together, and play together. She’s still a bit jealous of him but I’ve made sure that I, and everyone else, treat them the same. You pet one, you pet the other. Oliver is a very lazy dog for a puppy but when he DOES get excited you can’t slow him down.
Bella
Sex: Female | Birthdate: June’11
We got Bella right after Ollie. Even after we got him I was still dead set on getting a kitten. I wanted a kitten to give my love and attention to like Bailey let me. Bella was a “grown up” and didn’t want that much attention. She is very loving but the one she cares about most is Reese. They do everything together. Everything. I honestly can’t split them up. If I were to evaluate their relationship I’d have to say that Reese sees Bella as her baby and Bella thinks of Reese as her mom. For a while, we had a situation where Bella would try to drink from Reese. I was able to stop that soon after but they still act as though Bella belongs to Reese.
