Hello Kitty fiends!

Posted on September 1st, 2012 at 12:30 PM

One of the boys next door brought a girl back that they work with. We started chatting about numerous things but she could not stop gushing about my Hello Kitty purse. I told her where I got it and she promised to buy one. I even showed her my Hello Kitty watch, that I pulled out of my purse (because honestly, who wears watches anymore let alone ones that aren’t  designer watches.) She couldn’t stop telling everyone who came out of the house. Well, she happens to be Breya’s BFF (She comes out to talk to her all the time and Breya really likes her). When she brought Breya gifts for her birthday, they were all Hello Kitty. She got her a lunch bag, purse, stickers, crayons, and pajamas. Breya’s eyes lit up when she saw all the gifts. Of course, Breya likes Hello Kitty, I raised her.

My baby sister turns 7!

With Breya’s birthday around the corner (Sunday), we’ve got a lot to do. Her party is Saturday (as is her Cheer Picture Day) and she has a game on Sunday. We are having a party in the backyard since one of Breya’s presents is a trampoline. She already got that and had a blast today while everyone else did yard work in preperation. We are all running around trying to find time to shop for presents and supplies for the party. One of the gifts I found that Grandma can get her (Thanks, Slickdeals) is a guitar from JC Penney’s. It’s $9. Of course it’s not a epiphone dot deluxe, but she’s only turning 7. She’s been wanting to play guitar for a while now and I think she would really like it. If I can find her some simple guitar tabs to help her learn, we might have a new Hannah Montana in town.

Breya’s Birthday Party

Posted on June 14th, 2012 at 5:36 PM

Breya’s birthday is coming up and my mom had been thinking of whether or not to have a party. She’ll be 7 this August and we only have a few more years of her enjoying kid birthday parties. Yesterday, she had a field trip to the same place that I went for my first grade field trip. The Discovery Center is a hands-on children’s museum. It’s much more than science, though. I recall driving a firetruck, pretending to be a dentist, shopping in a child-sized grocery store and soooo much more. It was like a giant toy room and I had a blast. So did she. She had so much fun and even talked about many of the same things. Much of it is exactly how I remember it, so I’m sure they added more. I don’t remember much of what else they had. I thought they had a zoo. When I looked up their website, their prices are very reasonable, even for birthday parties. However, since they come in packages and it’s hard to have a birthday party in the summer (because of the lack of contact with school friends), we might just end up going ourselves. It’s $5 per adult, $6 for kids and free for babies and toddlers, I think. That’s pretty amazing. It’s also about an hour away from us but it’s so worth it. I doubt we’ll need to make birthday invitations since there won’t be many children but I hope we get to have her party there. I would love to go back! It would be great to see it now that I’m much older. We might have to take my elementary best friend. It was her favorite field trip, too. We even talked about trying to find the name of it a couple of years ago so that we could go ourselves! She would love to take her little brother and sister up there, too, I’m sure.

That’s My Answer

That’s My Answer: How often do you check to see what the weather is going to be like?
Usually about every 2-3 days. For some reason, my little brother, Zack, HATES wearing pants and I need to check the weather for him every few days to see if he can wear shorts yet. In our house, it has to be at least 70 degrees outside before he can wear shorts and Breya can wear shorts or dresses and skirts without leggings.
